Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark off 0.38% against Europe trend

Lisbon, Sept. 3, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed down on Wednesday, with the PSI index falling 0.38% to 7,648.38 points, bucking the positive trend in the rest of Europe.

Of the 15 shares that are included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 10 went down, four went up and Sonae SGPS was unchanged at €1.28.

Leading the declines was Galp, down 2.16 % to €16.08.

Among the main losers were EDP Renováveis, down 1.21% to €9.78, Corticeira Amorim, down 1.06% to €7.45 and Altri, down 1.01% to €4.90.

With drops of less than 1% were Semapa (€17.32), CTT (€7.11), NOS (€3.88), REN (€2.92), EDP (€3.72) and Navigator (€3.27).

In the opposite direction, leading the risers was Ibersol, which gained 1.25% to €9.70, followed by Mota-Engil, which rose 1.20% to €4.91.

With gains of less than 1% were BCP (€ 0.72) and Jerónimo Martins (€ 21.24).

In the rest of Europe, the main indices in Paris rose 0.86%, London 0.67%, Madrid 0.58% and Frankfurt 0.46%.
