Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Newspapers hit by cyberattack Sunday

Lisbon, March 30, 2025 (Lusa) - Several Notícias Ilimitadas and Global Media publications are experiencing some online constraints due to a computer attack, according to information available on the JN website.

On its website, Jornal de Notícias (JN) states that "the computer systems of Notícias Ilimitadas and Global Media suffered an attack that affects various services, including news websites and e-paper editions of the newspapers, as well as TSF's broadcasting systems".

Despite the constraints, it is still possible to access the online news of JN, O Jogo and TSF, but the websites of the magazines "Evasões", "Notícias Magazine" and "Volta ao Mundo", as well as the titles "Delas" and N-TV, are unavailable, according to the Lusa news agency.

"The failures affect the titles of both groups, given that there are still many interconnections in the respective networks," explains JN on its website, while also revealing that in the case of JN and the sports newspaper O Jogo it is not possible to access the e-paper edition.

"The incident has already been reported to the competent authorities and every effort is being made to restore services to customers as soon as possible," reports JN.

Luís Figueiredo Trindade, CEO of Global Media, which owns Diário de Notícias, Dinheiro Vivo, DN Brasil and Motor 24, told Lusa that the attack is causing constraints, but acknowledged that the "impact could have been worse", since it is possible to access the news on most of the sites.
