Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes up 0.54% helped by index heavyweights EDP, EDPR

Lisbon, Sept. 10, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed green on Wednesday, up 0.54% at 7,729.37 points, helped by EDP and EDP Renováveis, which rose 1.88% and 1.62% respectively.

Of the 15 companies that are included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index) eight rose, five fell, and Sonae and CTT remain unchanged at €1.29 and €7.26 respectively.

EDP led the gains on the Lisbon stock market today, rising 1.88% to €3.79, followed by EDP Renováveis, which rose 1.62% to €10.06.

EDP Renováveis concluded an asset rotation agreement on Tuesday relating to a solar storage portfolio in the state of California, US, the company informed the market.

Also climbing today were, Ibersol (1.42% to €10), REN (0.85% to €2.98), Semapa (0.79% to €17.94), NOS (0.77% to €3.91), BCP (0.48% to €0.72) and Galp (0.13% to €15.96).

Leading the declines were Navigator, which fell 1.03% to €3.26, and Altri, with a drop of 0.60% to €4.94.

Corticeira Amorim (0.53% to €7.48), Jerónimo Martins (0.28% to €21.64) and Mota-Engil (0.12% to €4.92) also closed in negative territory.

The civil construction company's (Mota-Engil) share price stabilised somewhat today after some recent major rises due to new contracts being won, and subsequent falls.

Elsewhere in Europe, the main markets closed the session mixed, with falls in London (0.19%) and Frankfurt (0.36%). Paris was up 0.15%, Madrid rose 1.29% and Milan grew 0.12%.
