Lisbon, April 24, 2025 (Lusa) - Portugal's incumbent train operator, CP - Comboios de Portugal, has warned of the possibility of "major disruption" due to a strike by the SFRCI - Sindicato Ferroviário da Revisão Comercial Itinerante (Ticket Inspector Union), according to a notice published by the operator.
"Due to a strike called by the SFRCI union, major disruption is expected on 28 April 2025, with an impact on the previous and following days," CP said.
The operator said it may update the information "if minimum services are defined".
CP reminded "customers who have purchased tickets to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional trains" will get "a full refund, or its free exchange for another train of the same category and in the same class".
This refund or exchange can be made online "up to 15 minutes before the departure of the train from the customer's station of origin, or at the ticket offices".
After this deadline, and up to 10 days after the end of the strike, he said, "a refund can be requested by filling in the online contact form “refund for delay or cancellation”, sending a scan of the ticket".
