Lisbon, Nov. 29, 2024 (Lusa) - All young people up to and including the age of 23 can now activate and load their Navegante pass for free on the app to travel in December in the Lisbon region, Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML) announced on Friday.

In a statement, TML stressed that extending the free pass to all young people up to and including the age of 23, a measure that until now was exclusive to students, is part of ‘encouraging the use of public transport’ and ‘fits in with Portugal's commitments to decarbonisation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate climate change’.

‘To avoid queues or unnecessary trips to the ticket offices,’ it is possible to immediately load and activate access to free youth on the “navegante” app from today.

TML has set up a dedicated helpline, which can be reached on 218 206 050, to answer any questions.
