Maputo, Aug. 26, 2024 (Lusa) - The Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM), Mozambique's largest exhibition of goods and services, kicks off on Monday. The president of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, will lead the official opening.
The event, which will run until 1 September, will be attended by 3,300 exhibitors from 26 countries, including 2,300 Mozambican companies and 750 foreign ones, according to figures from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which is promoting the exhibition.
Around 65,000 visitors are expected during the six days of FACIM 2024, which is celebrating its 59th edition this year.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the event will feature seminars and business forums to present opportunities in various economic sectors.
This year's edition will be held under the slogan: ‘Industrialisation: Innovation and Diversification of the National Economy’.
According to information from the Presidency, at the opening of FACIM 2024 the head of state will also preside over the Exporter's Day ceremony, which aims to honour the best exporting companies.
