Eni on Wednesday announced the signing of a 20-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Venture Global LNG of Arlington Virginia, USA.
    Under the terms of the deal, Eni will purchase 2 million tons per year (Mtpa) over 20 years from Phase 1 of the CP2 LNG liquefaction project, with deliveries starting at the end of the decade.
    The Venture Global plant will have a maximum production capacity of 28 Mtpa and is currently under development in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, United States.
    The agreement, according to a statement, represents Eni's first long-term LNG supply from the US and is a key milestone in its strategy to expand and diversify its LNG portfolio.
