Lisbon, Aug. 5, 2024 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, in line with the main European markets, but eased its losses at the end of the session, ending with the PSI index down 1.87% to 6,467.97 points.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI, 14 fell and only two rose, with the EDP group leading the declines.

EDP fell 4.71% to €3.66 and EDP Renováveis dropped 4.21% to €14.11.

In positive territory, Jerónimo Martins rose 0.94% to €16.16 and BCP, the only bank in the PSI, rose 0.61% to €0.36.

On the main European stock exchanges, Madrid was down 2.34%, Milan 2.27%, London 2.04%, Frankfurt 1.82% and Paris 1.42%.
