Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market trading up 0.33% on Thursday morning

Lisbon, Sept. 3, 2026 (Lusa) - The main Portuguese stock market index, the PSI, continued the trend seen at the opening and was up 0.33% after an hour and a half of trading on Thursday morning.

At around 9.30 am in Lisbon, the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) was up 0.33% at 9,436.06 points, with 10 stocks in positive territory, five in negative territory and Jerónimo Martins holding steady at €18.16.

The gains were led by Teixeira Duarte, which rose by 1.04% to €0.49, closely followed by NOS (up 0.99% to €5.01).

BCP rose by 0.89% to €1.13, EDP Renewables gained 0.82% to €13.45 and CTT rose by 0.69% to €6.57.

Also in the black were Semapa (up 0.48% to €20.85), REN (up 0.29% to €3.49), Corticeira Amorim (up 0.28% to €7.09), Mota-Engil (up 0.25% to €4.78) and Galp (up 0.19% to €21.15).

Conversely, Ibersol was the biggest loser, falling 0.39% to €10.22.

Altri fell by 0.32% to €4.74, EDP dropped by 0.30% to €4.65, Sonae fell by 0.25% to €2.03 and Navigator fell by 0.18% to €3.26.

The main European stock markets were trading without a clear direction today, but remained optimistic following the fall in oil prices, after it emerged that the US had escorted the transport of 18 million barrels through the Strait of Hormuz At the same time, the price of a barrel of Brent crude for November delivery – the main benchmark for Europe – fell by 0.38% to $95.25.

At around the same time, the euro was trading at $1.1605, whilst gold and silver rose to $4,434 and $65.94, respectively.

Amongst cryptocurrencies, bitcoin rose to $77,875.

On Wednesday, Wall Street closed higher, with the Dow Jones up 0.56%, the S&P 500 up 0.46% and the Nasdaq up 0.45%.
