Lisbon, Aug. 20, 2026 (Lusa) - The Portuguese stock market remains in positive territory on Thursday morning, continuing the trend seen at the opening, with the main index, the PSI, rising by 0.12% to 9,250.07 points.
Around an hour and a half after the opening bell, eight listed companies saw their share prices rise and seven fall, whilst Sonae remained at €2.00 per share.
The gains were led by EDP Renewables, which rose 0.82% to €13.52, followed by Corticeira Amorim (+0.74% to €6.78) and Navigator (+0.56% to €3.23).
Also in positive territory were Mota-Engil, which rose 0.49% to €4.50, BCP, which gained 0.46% to €1.09, and REN, which rose 0.43% to €3.53.
In addition to these, EDP (+0.41% to €4.61) and CTT (up 0.32% to €6.34) had also posted gains since the start of the session.
On the other hand, Jerónimo Martins was the biggest loser, falling 0.99% to €17.01. The retailer was followed by Ibersol, which fell by 0.90% to €9.95.
Semapa was down 0.50% and trading at €20.10, whilst Teixeira Duarte fell by 0.21% to 0.48%.
Galp (-0.19% to €21.42), NOS (-0.12% to €4.83) and Altri (-0.11% to €4.72) recorded more modest losses.
The main European stock markets opened mixed today, whilst the price of a barrel of Brent crude for October delivery exceeded $93 The price of a barrel of Brent crude for October delivery rose by 1.54% to $93.03, after United States President Donald Trump announced an «unprecedented» economic offensive against Iran.
Meanwhile, the euro was trading at $1.1682, gold fell by 0.6% to $4,488.48 and an ounce of silver dropped by 0.25% to $66.77. Bitcoin, meanwhile, was trading at $69,779.2.
