Lusa - Business News - Angola: TAAG Dreamliner allowed to fly into Lisbon

Luanda, June 19, 2026 (Lusa) — The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has authorised TAAG to operate the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on flights to Europe; the aircraft will initially be deployed on the Luanda–Lisbon–Luanda route, the Angolan airline has announced.

The authorisation was granted as part of the standard certification and technical oversight process applicable to operators flying to destinations within the European Union, and enables the new aircraft to be incorporated into TAAG’s fleet modernisation programme.

The Luanda–Lisbon–Luanda route is TAAG’s main link to the European market, and the introduction of the Boeing 787-9 aims to “enhance the passenger travel experience” and the airline’s competitiveness on this strategic route.

According to the company’s chair, Clóvis Rosa, quoted in the press release, the approval reflects “recognition of the technical, operational and regulatory compliance work that TAAG has been carrying out” and reinforces its credibility with international authorities, partners and customers.

TAAG will continue the technical and regulatory work currently underway with a view to the gradual integration of the Boeing 787 fleet into its international operations, the press release states.

The Angolan carrier currently serves 13 domestic destinations and 12 international destinations, and also operates in the cargo sector.
