Lisbon, 27 May 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Wednesday, with the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) retreating 0.65% to 9,136.10 points, contrasting with a mostly positive trend across Europe.
Seven of the 16 listed companies on the PSI fell, while nine rose.
Galp led the losses, dropping 3.48% to €18.60.
Teixeira Duarte was among the main decliners, retreating 2.45% to €0.44, followed by EDP Renováveis, down 2.07% to €14.16, and REN, which shed 1.67% to €3.53. BCP declined 1.61% to €0.97, while Mota-Engil fell 1.16% to €4.79.
EDP was the only company to record a drop of less than 1%, closing at €4.42.
Altri led the gains on the opposite side of the table, rising 2.84% to €5.07. Semapa stood out with a 1.91% rise to €23.95, while Sonae SGPS gained 1.48% to €1.92. Corticeira Amorim climbed 1.21% to €6.68, and Navigator appreciated 1.18% to €3.43.
Jerónimo Martins (€18.78), Ibersol (€11.78), CTT (€6.19), and NOS (€5.26) all recorded gains below 1%.
Major European markets saw Madrid progress 0.49%, Paris 0.43%, and London 0.13%, while Frankfurt slipped 0.03%.
