Italian women's basketball icon Mabel Bocchi has died at the age of 72, Italian basketball federation sources said on Thursday.
    Considered by many to be the greatest woman Italian basketball player of all time, Bocchi was the driving force of the GEAS Sesto San Giovanni team that won the European title in 1978.
    She was played at three European championships with Italy, winning bronze in 1974, and at the 1975 world championships.
