Luanda, Nov. 9, 2025 (Lusa) - TAP will transfer its flights in Luanda to the new António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN) from 1 December, a source from the national airline announced.
According to the plan announced, on 1 December the Lisbon-Luanda connection will already have AIAAN as its destination, while the first Luanda-Lisbon flight will depart that day from 4 de Fevereiro Airport.
On 2nd December, the flight from Luanda to Lisbon will depart from the new airport.
This move follows other operators who have already transferred flights to AIAAN, such as Angolan carrier TAAG and Emirates.
AIAAN was officially inaugurated on 10 November 2023 by President João Lourenço and has a capacity for 15 million passengers a year and 130,000 tonnes of cargo, about 40 kilometres from the Angolan capital.
The start-up of commercial flights began gradually, starting with domestic connections, with Cabinda as the first destination.
The capital's main airport until now, 4 de Fevereiro Airport, is to be progressively left to specialised services as international operators transfer their flights to AIAAN.
