President Sergio Mattarella will open the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics on February 6 next year, the president of the MilanoCortina Foundation, Giovanni Malagò, announced Thursday.
"The Head of State will be present at the Opening Ceremony and will declare the Olympic Games open.
It will be an institutional and formal moment," he said.
Speaking at the presentation of the concept for the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games currently underway at the Meazza Stadium, Malagò said Mattarella will therefore be at San Siro on February 6th.
