Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market trading higher on Thursday morning with EDPR up 1.4%

Lisbon, Sept. 25, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market is trading higher on Thursday morning, with EDP Renováveis shares leading the gains and rising 1.41% to €11.48.

At around 9:20 a.m. in Lisbon, the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), which has had 16 companies since Monday, had reversed the opening trend and was advancing 0.25% to 7,934.95 points, with seven stocks rising, six falling and three maintaining their price (Corticeira Amorim at €7.24, Jerónimo Martins at €20.58 and NOS at €3.79).

EDP Renováveis shares were followed by Galp and Teixeira Duarte, which were rising 0.73% to €15.46 and 0.70% to €0.58, while REN and EDP were both up 0.68% to €2.95 and €4.03.

More moderately, Semapa and Altri shares were gaining 0.22% to €18.20 and 0.20% to €5.04.

In the opposite direction, Ibersol, BCP and Mota-Engil shares were falling 1.89% to €9.86, 1.46% to €0.73 and 0.97% to €5.09.

Shares in CTT, Sonae and Navigator were down by 0.41% to €7.25, 0.30% to €1.32 and 0.12% to €3.25.

The main European stock markets opened lower today, in a session with few macroeconomic references, except for the Gfk consumer confidence index in Germany for October.

The markets are without expectations in this session, except for the Gfk consumer confidence index in Germany, to which will be added data on new car registrations in the eurozone in August.

In the US, Wall Street stock market futures, which closed in the red on Wednesday, point to losses, but more moderate ones, of 0.03% for the Dow Jones and 0.10% for the Nasdaq.

Brent, the benchmark crude oil in Europe, for November delivery, is retreating to US$69.17, compared to US$69.31 on Wednesday.

The euro is stronger, rising to US$1.1745 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market, compared to US$1.1733 on Wednesday and a new four-year high of US$1.1865 on 16 September.
