Lisbon, Sept. 5, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Friday, with the PSI index falling 0.58% to 7,704.26 points, penalised by losses of 3% for BCP and 2% for Galp Energia.
Of the 15 companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index) nine fell, five rose, and Mota-Engil remain unchanged at €5.10.
BCP led the declines in today's session, falling 3.48% to €0.71, followed by Galp Energia, which fell 2.32% to €15.77, and Corticeira Amorim, which lost 1.46% to €7.41.
NOS also fell by more than 1%, -1.01% to €3.90.
On the other hand, the EDP family was among the gainers: subsidiary EDP Renováveis rose 1.21% to €10 and parent company EDP advanced 0.37% to €3.75.
Also noteworthy were Jerónimo Martins, which rose 0.27% to €21.90, and REN, which added 0.68% to €2.97.
Elsewhere in Europe, the day was also marked by declines. London fell 0.09%, Madrid 0.45% and Frankfurt 0.73%, while Paris fell 0.31%.
