George Clooney had to skip the press conference at the Venice Film Festival Thursday for Noah Baumbach's Jay Kelly due to a severe sinusitis.
The meeting's moderator said: "As you may know, George Clooney unfortunately can't be here; he has a bad sinus infection.
He's very sorry but hopes to be able to attend the red carpet after 9 p.m.." Baumbach joked: "Even big stars get sick." Clooney, 64, has returned to the lido to compete, giving substance to the physical and inner journey of a self-questioning star in Baumbach's Jay Kelly, with a supercast that includes Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Greta Gerwig (also co-writer with her husband Baumbach) and Alba Rohrwacher.
