Lisbon, Aug. 25, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark PSI index falling 0.79% to 7,917.15 points, penalised by losses of 3% at EDP Renováveis and 1.65% at EDP.
Of the 15 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, nine closed in negative territory, five in the ‘green’ and Galp Energia ended unchanged at €16.45.
Leading the falls was EDP Renováveis, which fell 3.08% to €10.37, the same devaluation registered by Mota-Engil, which was quoted at €5.03.
On the other hand, parent company EDP fell 1.65% to €3.82, while REN fell 1.16% to €2.98 and CTT, which announced today that it will temporarily suspend the transport of postal shipments of goods to the US, fell 1.15% to €7.73.
On the other hand, gains included Jerónimo Martins, which advanced 0.67% to €21.04, as well as NOS, which rose 0.63% to €3.98 and Corticeira Amorim, which appreciated 0.38% to €7.36.
In the rest of Europe, the Spanish IBEX-35 fell 0.85%, the French CAC lost 1.59% and the German DAX fell 0.37%, while the British FTSE 100 stood out by rising 0.13%.
