Lusa - Business News - Angola: UAE president highlights boost in non-oil trade

Luanda, Aug. 25, 2025 (Lusa) - The president of the United Arab Emirates highlighted in Luanda on Monday the positive evolution of relations with Angola, whose trade in the non-oil sector reached $2.1 billion (€1.7 billion) in 2024.

Mohamed Bin Zayed Nahyan, who is on a state visit to Angola, was speaking after a private meeting with his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, emphasising that relations between the two countries have seen continuous development, especially in the area of investment and non-oil trade.

According to Mohamed Bin Zayed Nahyan, the volume of non-oil trade between the two countries reached $2.1 billion last year, representing a growth of more than 36% compared to 2019.

Regarding areas of interest, he emphasised the commitment to strengthening cooperation with the African country in areas he considered strategic, such as agriculture, energy, technology, food security and logistics services.
