Lisbon, Aug. 8, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Friday, with the PSI rising 0.23% to 7,780.27 points, with paper and pulp sector stocks standing out, rising almost 3%.

Of the 15 stocks listed on the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), eight rose, six fell and one, BCP, remained unchanged.

Leading the gains was Altri, which rose 2.96% to €5.21, and Semapa, advancing 2.82% to €18.24.

They were followed by Navigator, with shares rising 2.46% to €3.34, and Galp, advancing 1.10% to €16.57.

In the opposite direction, Ibersol led the declines, falling 1.24% to €9.52, followed by EDP Renováveis and REN, which fell 0.70% to €9.98 and 0.67% to €2.94, respectively.

Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid rose 0.91% and Paris 0.44%, while London fell 0.06% and Frankfurt 0.12%.
