NNA - Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, on Friday signed a cooperation agreement with UNICEF to strengthen the media sector and develop the infrastructure of Télé Liban and the Ministry of Information's sections.

The agreement falls within the framework of the joint action plan between the ministry and Télé Liban for 2025.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of UNICEF Representative in Lebanon, Andrea Berther, and a delegation from UNICEF.

Minister Morcos said, "We are in the process of signing an additional memorandum of understanding with UNICEF,” thanking UNICEF for its significant efforts undertaken in the past to “strengthen the status of media outlets, in general, particularly the sections of the Ministry of Information and Tele Liban."

Morcos added: "Today, support has been renewed, after the new presidential term was launched and the government promised to kickstart reforms and the country’s recovery workshop."

Minister Morcos pointed out that "the agreement includes a number of qualitative initiatives, most notably: providing the Bikfaya Tele Liban transmission center with solar energy, updating the National News Agency's website and creating its own application, providing TL with a Lebanese series funded by the European Union, in addition to an entertainment program for children, and organizing training courses and workshops for media professionals and media faculties' students, with the aim of raising professional competence and enhancing media skills."
