'Le Figaro Nautisme' has included Syros in its list of the five most beautiful islands of the Cyclades. The popular French website, which specialises in maritime and nautical tourism and operates under the "Le Figaro" brand, highlights the architectural uniqueness of the Cyclades’ capital.
According to the website, "the architecture of Ermoupoli possesses an otherworldly beauty. With Venetian and neoclassical influences, the houses are not all white; instead, they coexist harmoniously in shades of yellow, pink, and blue, resembling a tasteful rainbow that adds a very special atmosphere to the island. In the heart of Ermoupoli (capital of the island), pedestrian streets are surrounded by the old mansions of the aristocracy of the past, and the city’s marina offers a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea. Equally captivating are the island's villages, perched atop hills and reminiscent of times when pirate raids were a routine threat. Syros' cuisine is also well known in the Cyclades for its sweets, with the star being the 'loukoumi' in various flavours."
All in all, Syros holds the 'sceptre' of aesthetics and is full of gastronomic surprises.
It is noted that the interest of the international media from markets as France, the United Kingdom, Spain, The Netherlands and Italy remains high for the exploration of thematic experiences of the specific destination in the context of the effort of the municipality of Syros-Ermoupoli.
