Lisbon, April 24, 2025 (Lusa) - Applications for Industry 4.0 support under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) officially open on Thursday. The budget allocation is €30 million, and the maximum value per company is €300,000.

In a statement released today, FI Group Portugal, a consultancy specialising in incentive management, points out that "the pressure to ensure you're in the running for first place is evident, given the high level of interest in support in the last call," which received four times more applications than the available funding.

"This incentive system, unlike others, is a sprint. Applications will be analysed on a first-come, first-served basis and it is essential that companies are prepared to submit their proposals as soon as the opening notice is published," said FI Group Senior Consultant Tiago Jardim, quoted in the document.

According to the consultancy, the fact that financial support under Industry 4.0 is considered a non-repayable grant makes it "particularly attractive".

Under Component 16 - Companies 4.0, this measure aims to support projects applying advanced digital technologies to industrial processes, in 10 key areas, from artificial intelligence to collaborative robotics.

According to the history of the previous call, which ended in December 2023, more than four times the number of eligible applications were submitted compared to the available funding, and many were excluded only by order of submission and not for lack of merit.
