Lisbon, March 26, 2025 (Lusa) - Portugal's flag carrier TAP on Wednesday warned passengers of disruptions to some flights to and from Brussels due to the general strike taking place on 31 March in Belgium.
"TAP is actively working to minimise the inconvenience caused," the airline said in a social media post.
The company also recommends that passengers check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
"If the flight is confirmed, check in online and go to the airport in advance, avoiding taking hold luggage," adds TAP.
Brussels International Airport today cancelled the departure of all flights scheduled for Monday, March 31, due to the general strike called in Belgium and assured that some arrivals may also be cancelled.
The airport expects a large number of ground and security staff to join the strike, which is why it has agreed with the airlines that no planes will take off, as announced on its website, and has asked passengers not to go to the terminals.
The companies are expected to notify passengers of the cancellations in the coming days, as has now happened with TAP.
Brussels airport has also warned of possible disruptions to arrivals, recommending that travellers check the status of their flights with the companies.
