Lisbon, Dec. 19, 2024 (lusa) - TAP carried two million passengers on the routes it operates between Portugal and Brazil in a single year, it said in a statement released on Thursday.
"For the first time in its history, the airline surpassed the mark of two million passengers transported in a single year between the two countries," it said, emphasising that "this figure represents a significant growth in demand for flights between the two continents and consolidates TAP's position as one of the main operators of transatlantic routes."
The routes between Portugal and Brazil are "one of the main pillars of growth for TAP, which continues to invest in expanding its network of destinations and improving the on-board experience," said the carrier.
In 2025, TAP expects to "continue this growth trajectory, further expanding its presence between the two countries and maintaining excellence in customer service," it said.
TAP flies directly from Lisbon to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis and Manaus, as well as connecting Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
There are 13 cities in Brazil (15 routes, from Lisbon and Porto) that TAP connects directly to Portugal.
