Lisbon, Dec. 6, 2024 (Lusa) - Meo Energia has entered the electric mobility market with the launch of its vehicle charging service, which is now available at ‘more than 6,000 Mobi.e charging stations’ on the mainland, Madeira and the Azores.
Altice Portugal's Meo Energia stated that the service has no loyalty or maintenance costs.
‘Simplifying day-to-day life for customers, signing up to the new service for convenient charging of electric vehicles is done via the My Meo App,’ the company explained in a statement, adding that afterwards, ’consumers have to choose the type of cable, connect it to the station, swipe the Meo Energia Energy Mobility card they now have and start charging.’
‘Of the energy service customers who opted to change electricity supplier last September, it was Meo Energia that benefited from the largest share of transitions,’ says the company, citing data from the Energy Services Regulatory Authority's (ERSE) monthly bulletin on the liberalised market, released this week.
‘In September, Meo Energia attracted the largest number of customers in absolute terms,’ having won over “around 42% of the number of customers who changed supplier, which represented net gains in the customer portfolio of 11% compared to the previous month,” according to ERSE data, quoted by Meo Energia.
This was ‘the third month in a row in which the supplier repeated the feat, having taken 34% of customers from competitors in July and 42% in August, a figure repeated in this latest report from the regulator’, it adds.
The company has already exceeded 100,000 customers, reaching 2% of the market share.
