Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark index unchanged on day

Lisbon, Aug. 14, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed unchanged on Friday, with the PSI index standing at 9,254.52 points, against a largely negative backdrop across Europe.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), eight rose, six fell, whilst BCP and Corticeira Amorim remained unchanged at €1.10 and €6.76 respectively.

Leading the gains was Galp, which rose by 1.71% to €20.81, followed by NOS, which rose by 1% to €4.85.

Gains of less than 1% were recorded by Semapa (€20.30), Altri (€4.75), Sonae SGPS (€2.02), Mota-Engil (€4.55), Ibersol (€9.81) and Jerónimo Martins (€17.21).

At the other end of the scale, EDP Renewables led the fallers, dropping 1.81% to €13.59.

CTT (€6.32), Teixeira Duarte (€0.49), REN (€3.54), EDP (€4.55) and Navigator (€3.23) all recorded falls of less than 1%.

Elsewhere in Europe, London fell by 0.21%, Paris by 0.16% and Madrid by 0.06%, whilst Frankfurt rose by 0.53%.
