Lisbon, Aug. 4, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market was trading higher on Tuesday morning, with CTT and Corticeira Amorim both rising by 0.90% to €6.16 and €6.76 respectively, whilst Jerónimo Martins fell by 1.02% to €17.44.
At around 9.20 am in Lisbon, the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) was up 0.25% at 9,194.91 points, with 12 companies rising and four falling.
Following CTT and Corticeira Amorim's shares were those of EDP Renewables, Semapa and Ibersol, which rose by 0.89% to €13.64, 0.60% to €19.96 and 0.42% to €9.66 respectively.
Galp, Navigator and REN rose by 0.38% to €19.82, 0.37% to €3.27 and 0.29% to €3.48 respectively.
EDP and Sonae rose by 0.27% to €4.48 and 0.24% to €2.06, whilst the other two companies to see gains were BCP (up 0.23% to €1.08) and Altri (up 0.10% to €4.78).
In the opposite direction, in addition to Jerónimo Martins, NOS, Mota-Engil and Teixeira Duarte fell by 0.45% to €4.84, 0.26% to €4.64 and 0.20% to €0.50 respectively.
Across Europe, the main stock markets opened higher today, awaiting developments in the negotiations between Washington and Tehran, whilst oil prices rose moderately.
The euro was stable, gaining 0.03% against the dollar and trading at $1.1513 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market.
The price of the benchmark Brent crude oil contract in Europe rose by 1.31% to $84.87.
In New York, the Dow Jones and the Nasdaq closed up 1.32% and remained steady, whilst futures were up 0.13% for the former and 0.65% for the tech index.
Today will see the release of the results from SpaceX, Elon Musk's aerospace and AI company.
