Lisbon, July 30, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed 1.07% higher on Thursday at 9,145.86 points, with 12 companies closing in positive territory, led by BCP, which rose 4.97% to €1.07 per share.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, 12 closed higher, three recorded modest declines, and one remained unchanged.
BCP led the gains, rising 4.97% to €1.07 per share, followed by Mota-Engil, which gained 3.28% to €4.67 per share, and Teixeira Duarte, which rose 2.92% to €0.49 per share.
Galp recorded the most modest performance, falling 2.08% to €19.58, followed by REN, which fell 0.71% to €3.52 per share. Corticeira Amorim also fell by 0.60% to €6.62.
Navigator remained unchanged, with its share price at €3.24.
On Wednesday, after the market closed, Jerónimo Martins reported a 3.5% drop in first-half profits to €260 million. In contrast, Sonae's profit rose by 20.5% in the first half compared with the same period in 2025, to €123 million.
EDP announced a 3% rise in profits to €732 million.
BCP posted a profit of €565.8 million in the first half of the year, an increase of 12.7% compared with the same period last year, it was announced today.
Among the major European indices, Spain's IBEX 35 rose by 1.60%, France's CAC 40 rose by 0.92% and Germany's DAX by 0.45%. The UK's FTSE 100 fell by 0.20%.
