Lusa - Business News - Portugal: About 17,000 biker fans attend Faro International Motorcycle Rally

Faro, Portugal, July 19, 2026 (Lusa) - Around 17,000 people took part in the 44th Faro International Motorcycle Rally, which ended in the Algarve city on Sunday, with the organisers giving a positive assessment of the event and announcing the dates for the next edition, in 2027.

“It’s been a positive event. Things went well within the venue, and there was a strong turnout,” said Pedro Baptista, president of the Faro Motorcycle Club, the event’s organiser, speaking to the Lusa news agency.

The 44th Faro International Motorcycle Rally, which began on Thursday in Vale das Almas, Faro, drew to a close with the traditional motorcycle parade this morning and the awards ceremony in the early afternoon.

This year, according to the president of the Faro Motorcycle Club, the turnout “was more or less in line with last year’s figures”, that is to say, “around 17,000”.

“The shows were very well attended, with lots of people watching,” he noted, also highlighting that Thursday evening, dedicated to the local public with a €10 entry fee, was once again a success.

“People left here happy, which is the most important thing, and now I hope everyone gets home safely,” he emphasised.

As for the next edition, Pedro Baptista said the Faro Festival would return from 15 to 18 July 2027 to mark its 45th anniversary.

“In this type of event, every fifth edition is always a historic milestone, and next year’s will be a success,” he added.

Over the four days, the event featured Portuguese acts Xutos & Pontapés, Rui Veloso, UHF, HMB and David Antunes, the Spanish band Mojinos Escozios and the British band UB40.
