Lisbon, July 17, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Friday, with the PSI rising by 0.27% to 9,062.26 points, driven by a 2.12% gain in Jerónimo Martins, whilst BCP held back more significant rises.
Of the 16 listed companies that in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 12 ended the week’s final session with gains, whilst the remaining four were in the red.
Leading the PSI’s gains was Teixeira Duarte, which rose 3.19% to €0.49, followed by Jerónimo Martins, which gained 2.12% to €16.84.
Also posting gains of over 1% were Navigator, which rose 1.34% to €3.19, and REN, which gained 1.25% to €3.64, whilst Corticeira Amorim rose 1.08% to €6.55.
Bucking the trend, and preventing more significant gains in the benchmark index, were, above all, BCP, whose shares fell by 1.11% to €1.03, and the two listed companies in the EDP group.
EDP Renewables fell by 0.14% to €13.82, whilst the parent company slipped by 0.07% to €4.52.
The Portuguese stock market bucked the trend seen across most major European markets, on a day when France’s CAC-40 fell by 0.47%, Spain’s IBEX-35 lost 0.45% and Germany’s DAX fell by 0.34%. By contrast, the UK’s FTSE 100 rose by 0.27%.
