Lisbon, July 10, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Friday, with the PSI falling by 0.19% to 9,106.84 points, bucking the trend seen across most European markets and under pressure from the pulp and paper sector.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, 11 closed lower, three were up, whilst EDP Renewables and Teixeira Duarte ended the week’s final session unchanged at €13.75 and €0.49 respectively.

Leading the falls on the national benchmark index was Altri, which fell by 1.06% to €4.68. Also in the pulp and paper sector, Navigator fell by 0.91% to €3.27, whilst Semapa retreated by 0.48% to €20.65.

In addition to Altri, CTT also saw falls of more than 1% and dropped 1.02% to €5.80.

At the other end of the spectrum, and helping to stem the PSI’s more significant losses, were, above all, EDP, which rose by 0.7% to €4.47, as well as NOS, which gained 0.70% to €4.92.

In the other major European markets, Spain’s IBEX-35 rose by 0.32%, the UK’s FTSE 100 advanced by 0.24% and France’s CAC-40 gained 0.15%. In contrast, Germany’s DAX fell by 0.20%.
