ALGIERS - Algerie Telecom won the prestigious "Quality Achievements Award 2026" presented by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), the company said in a statement on Monday.
The statement added that the company's CEO, Abdelghani Ait Said, received the award at the ESQR's international conference awards ceremony.
The event took place on Sunday in Brussels, bringing together top business executives, industry experts, and diplomats from across the globe.
The international award "honors companies and organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment and make ongoing efforts to improve their performance in quality management."
The statement noted that this recognition "follows a series of positive results achieved by the company. It is driven by a forward-looking strategic vision and the tireless efforts of the postal and telecommunications sector to elevate the company's operational performance to international standards, backed by advanced technological innovation."
This commitment was "clearly reflected in the launch of Wi-Fi 7 technology and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services, which offer high quality and continent-wide competitiveness."
The statement also highlighted the company's focus on "placing customer satisfaction at the core of its priorities, renewing its ISO 9001:2015 certification in early 2026, and partnering with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to organize the Global Africa Tech summit.
Hosted by Algeria in early 2026, the summit was held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
According to the statement, this achievement is "the result of the hard work of the company's teams, who use innovation to provide seamless connectivity for all citizens while cementing Algeria's status as a leading technological hub in Africa."
