Lisbon, May 28, 2026 (Lusa) – Entrepreneurship agency Startup Portugal will take 28 startups from Portugal to South Summit Madrid from 3 to 5 June, a delegation that has raised more than €49.4 million in investment and over €8.2 million in aggregate revenue. The agency said in a statement that it will have its own stand at the event, which ranks among Europe's main innovation and entrepreneurship gatherings.
Startup Portugal said the participating companies employ around 360 staff and represent different regions of the country, including Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Leiria, Covilhã and Viana do Castelo.
The startups focus on fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), fintech (financial technology), energy, industry, mobility and telecommunications.
The Business Abroad programme organises the participation to support Portugal's startups at international tech conferences.
Startup Portugal's chair, Alexandre Teixeira dos Santos, said the national ecosystem was at a "turning point" with "more mature" companies "prepared for a crucial moment: scaling."
He added that Spain represented a "natural step for international expansion" for Portugal's startups intending to grow in a competitive market, describing the South Summit as a "key platform to accelerate this presence."
The national delegation also includes investment funds such as Armilar, Bynd and Indico Capital Partners, alongside entities like the Unicorn Factory Lisboa.
The delegation includes the startups e-Security.bio, Complear, Good Casting, ZeroPact, InsightDigital, Coalex.ai, Indie Seguros, Logistics WMS, SCEMAI, UPinC LDA, Enline, ambi., Automaise, ubbu, Granter, WiseWorld, VIVIN APP, Meetball, Paynest and Planta Smart Homes. Savearth, TeemyTech, B10SEC, Manie, LoopOS, Deepneuronic, Serp Energy and Gazelle Wind Power also form part of the group travelling to Madrid.
