Macau, China, May 22, 2026 (Lusa) – Macau recorded over 14.65 million visitors in the first four months of 2026, 13.1% more than in the same period in 2025, marking a historical record for the period under review.
In the first four months of 2026, the number of visitors in Macau’s Special Administrative Region (MSAR) totalled 14,655,300, according to data the Statistics and Census Service released on Friday, which breaks the figure down into day-trippers (9,103,273) and tourists (5,552,027), with growth of 20.1% and 3.3% respectively.
The number of international visitors stood at 1,009,892, an increase of 10.7% compared with the same period in 2025, whilst the average length of stay for visitors (1 day) fell by 0.1 days compared with the first four months of 2025, and that for tourists (2.2 days) fell by 0.1 days.
In April specifically, the number of visitors stood at 3,441,396, an increase of 11.3% year-on-year, a figure comprising day-trippers (2,095,953) and tourists (1,345,443), which rose by 19.4% and 0.6% respectively.
Meanwhile, the average length of stay for visitors (1 day) fell 0.1 days compared to April 2025, whilst that for tourists (2.3 days) remained unchanged.
In terms of visitor origins, in the reference month, the number of visitors from Mainland China stood at 2,405,286, up 13.1% year-on-year.
The number of visitors from Hong Kong (680,521) and the Taiwan region (101,453) increased by 3.1% and 32.2% respectively.
International visitors totalled 254,136, up 10.5% year-on-year, led by tourists from the Philippines (51,544), South Korea (40,603) and Thailand (29,008), with increases of 19.6%, 9.1% and 41.8% respectively, compared with April 2025.
As regards long-haul visitors, the number of arrivals from the US (15,299) rose by 13.9% compared with April 2025, the authorities noted.
