HIMARA, May 15 /ATA/ –Through the “Talking Yards” project, the families of Himara share their living history. One can have a taste of authentic traditions, songs and recipes passed from heart to heart through generations.

Stepping into these traditional Riviera yards offers more than a glimpse of local life—it’s an intimate, heartfelt immersion into the area’s stories, flavors and craftsmanship, far removed from the tourist trail.

For generations, these yards have served as sanctuaries of hospitality, memory, and coexistence. Now, they are opening their doors to share the living heritage of Himara, fostering a deeper connection between visitors and the local community.

This initiative fosters the preservation of local cultural heritage through participatory tourism, offering authentic experiences centered on direct community interaction and the promotion of traditional coastal lifestyles.
