Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Lisbon stock market closes down with CTT losing more than 5%

Lisbon, May 4, 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) falling 1.89% to 9,168.05 with CTT losing more than 5%, following the trend across the rest of Europe.

Of the 16 listed companies in the PSI, 14 fell and two rose.

CTT led the losses, devaluing 5.15% to €6.08 on the day new CEO Guy Pacheco took office. Other significant drops included Teixeira Duarte, which fell 4.04% to €0.43, and BCP, which shed 3.54% to €0.88. Mota-Engil dropped 3.07% to €4.68, while NOS decreased 3.02% to €5.45. Jerónimo Martins fell 2.79% to €19.89 and REN lost 2.12% to €3.69.

EDP Renováveis fell 1.55% to €13.96, EDP devalued 1.10% to €4.59, Semapa dropped 1.08% to €22.95, and Sonae SGPS retreated 1.03% to €1.93. Navigator (€3.32), Galp (€19.88), and Corticeira Amorim (€6.40) all recorded losses of less than 1%.

Conversely, Ibersol led the gains, growing 1.50% to €12.88, followed by Altri, which increased 0.60% to €5.02.

Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid retreated 2.39%, Paris 1.71% and Frankfurt 1.24%. The London market was closed for the May bank holiday.
