Four-legged ace carried out over 100 rescue missions in Italy and Turkey

Afire brigade rescue dog that became a hero by saving several people after the Morandi Bridge collapse in Genoa in August 2018 that killed 43 people has now gone into retirement.
    Lamù, an Australian Shepherd from the Fire Brigade's canine unit in Friuli Venezia Giulia, finished his last shift on April 12th, his eleventh birthday.

Having served foreight years alongside his handler, team leader Andrea Leban of the Gorizia command, he participated in over one hundred rescue operations.
    Among these, the rescue efforts following the collapse of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa and missions with the USAR Italia team during the earthquake in Turkey in February 2023 that killed 53,500 people.
    A record that makes him one of the most experienced search dogs in the Corps.

Now, Lamù enters a new phase: a well-deserved rest, without sacrificing his bond with his handler.
