Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks close day flat despite Galp gaining more than 7%

Lisbon, Mar. 2, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed almost stable on Monday, with the PSI index falling slightly by 0.04% to 9,272.47 points, even with Galp gaining more than 7%, and in line with the rest of Europe.

Of the 16 companies listed on the PSI, 13 fell, and three rose.

Leading the gains was Galp, which rose 7.27% to €19.55, followed by EDP Renováveis, which rose 1.12% to €13.51.

Galp posted a record net profit of €1.15 billion in 2025, a 20% increase over the previous year, the company announced today.

The performance was driven by oil and gas production in Brazil and natural gas sales, despite declines in oil and the dollar, and the scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Sines refinery.

EDP (€4.54) posted a gain of less than 1% in today's trading session.

On the other hand, Semapa led the declines, falling 3.16% to €23.

Other major declines included Navigator, which fell 2.97% to €3.33, BCP, which fell 2.96% to €0.87, Altri, which fell 2.69% to €4.70, Ibersol, which fell 2.18% to €11.20, Mota-Engil, which fell 1.63% to €5.12, Sonae SGPS, which fell 1.54% to €1.98, and Corticeira Amorim, which lost 1.47% to €6.72.

Falling less than 1% were NOS (€5.10), Jerónimo Martins (€22.08), CTT (€7.08), Teixeira Duarte (€0.51), and REN (€3.85).

Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid fell 2.62%, Frankfurt 2.56%, Paris 2.17%, and London 1.20%.
