CNA - وزير خارجية اليونان يدعو الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بتكثيف الجهود من أجل حل القضية القبرصية
قال وزير خارجية اليونان نيكوس ديندياس إن اليونان تشجع الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة على بذل المزيد من الجهود لحل المشكلة القبرصية في إطار قرارات مجلس الأمن الدولي.
جاء كلام الوزير بعد اجتماعه مع الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش في الأمم المتحدة يوم الخميس، حيث أعلن عن ترشح اليونان لانتخابات مجلس الأمن كعضو غير دائم في مجلس الأمن الدولي للفترة 2025-26.
قال الوزير ديندياس إنه ناقش مع الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة مجموعة واسعة من القضايا، من بينها القضية القبرصية وإمكانية مبادرة جديدة بعد انتخاب نيكوس خريستودوليديس رئيساً لجمهورية قبرص.
أضاف أيضاً أنهما ناقشا الوضع في أوكرانيا وشرق البحر المتوسط بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من القضايا المتعلقة بحماية البيئة وحقوق المرأة.
ورداً على سؤال عما إذا كان الأمين العام غوتيريش قد ألمح إلى تعيين مبعوث، أشار ديندياس إلى الزيارة التي قامت بها مساعدة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة للشؤون السياسية وبناء السلام روزماري ديكارلو إلى قبرص. واضاف ان "الأمين العام ينتظر تقريرها قبل مشاوراته حول الخطوات المقبلة".
قال دندياس أيضاً إن غوتيريش رحب بترشيح اليونان دون أن يكون قادراً على اتخاذ موقف بشأن هذه المسألة.
علمت وكالة الأنباء القبرصية أن دندياس وغوتيريش تحدثا عن دور اليونان في غرب البلقان، كما ناقشا أيضاً تغير الأجواء في العلاقات اليونانية التركية بعد الزلازل.
يذكر أن مصادر دبلوماسية أشارت إلى "واقع جديد" في العلاقات الثنائية في أعقاب الزلازل التي ضربت تركيا، والذي يريد الجانب اليوناني دعمه والمحافظة عليه حتى نهاية الدورة الانتخابية في كلا البلدين، مما يتيح الفرصة للحكومتين اللتين ستظهران لبداية جديدة. كما أشارت المصادر نفسها إلى أن اليونان تأمل أن يكون للمناخ المحسن في العلاقات بين اليونان وتركيا دوراً في جهد جديد فيما يتعلق بالقضية القبرصية.
تم تقسيم قبرص منذ عام 1974 عندما غزتها تركيا واحتلت الثلث الشمالي للجزيرة، فشلت الجولات المتكررة من محادثات السلام برعاية الأمم المتحدة في التوصل إلى حل حتى الآن. انتهت الجولة الأخيرة من المفاوضات في تموز/يوليو 2017 في منتجع كران مونتانا – سويسرا دون نتائج.
