CNA - قبرص تستضيف القمة العربية الإقليمية الأولى لمرض الثلاسيميا

ينظم الاتحاد الدولي للثلاسيميا ومنتدى الجمعيات العربية للثلاسيميا القمة العربية الإقليمية الأولى حول الثلاسيميا وأمراض الهيموجلوبين الأخرى، يوم الاثنين 29 نيسان/أبريل في نيقوسيا.
ذكر بيان صحفي أن القمة تنعقد تحت رعاية وزير الصحة ميخاليس داميانوس، وتهدف إلى تعزيز العمل الذي تقوم به السلطات الصحية المختصة في كل دولة عربية متأثرة بالاضطرابات الوراثية والمساعدة على إجراء حوار مثمر بين الأطباء الخبراء وصناع السياسات.

يشارك في القمة المدير الإقليمي للشرق الأوسط لمنظمة الصحة العالمية الدكتورة حنان بلخي وأستاذي أمراض الدم الشهيرين علي طاهر وجون بورتر، وأستاذ أمراض القلب الدكتور ديميتريس فارماكيس، بالإضافة إلى مسؤولين حكوميين رفيعي المستوى وممثلي الخدمات الصحية الحكومية وخبراء من المملكة العربية السعودية ومصر والإمارات العربية المتحدة والكويت والأردن والعراق وتونس والمغرب ودول أخرى في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.

سيناقش المشاركون آثار الثلاسيميا ومرض فقر الدم المنجلي على الصحة العامة واستدامة النظم الصحية الوطنية، ورفع مستوى البرامج والسياسات الصحية الوطنية في الدول العربية، وأفضل الممارسات للوقاية من اعتلالات الهيموجلوبين وإدارتها، ومواصلة تعزيز التعاون الفردي العابر للحدود الوطنية في قطاع الصحة.

ذكر البيان أن أمراض الهيموجلوبين منتشرة بشكل خاص في العالم العربي، حيث أن هناك ما يقرب من 2-7% وفي بعض المناطق تصل إلى 15% من عدد السكان ممن يحملون مرض الثلاسيميا بيتا، ونسبة أكبر من حاملي مرض فقر الدم المنجلي.
