Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark index rising 0.5% driven by BCP

Lisbon, Feb. 2, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock exchange closed higher on Monday, with the PSI index rising 0.51% to 8,706.09 points, in line with the rest of Europe.

Of the 16 companies listed on the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index) , 10 rose, five fell and Ibersol remained unchanged at €10.65.

Leading the gains was index heavyweight BCP bank, which rose 2.34% to €0.94.

Also noteworthy were Sonae SGPS, which rose 1.69% to €1.80, Altri, which rose 1.39% to €4.39, Mota-Engil, which rose 1.35% to €4.52, CTT, which gained 1.33% to €6.88, Jerónimo Martins, which added 1.16% to €20.14, and Corticeira Amorim, which progressed 1.05% to €6.76.

Gains of less than 1% were seen in NOS (€4.40), REN (€3.45) and Navigator (€3.20).

Going in the opposite direction, EDP led the declines, falling by 1.20% to €4.27.

Semapa (€22.25), Teixeira Duarte (€0.48), Galp (€16.67) and EDP Renováveis (€12.76) all fell by less than 1%.

Elsewhere in Europe, the main indexes in Madrid rose 1.31%, London 1.15%, Frankfurt 1.05% and Paris 0.67%.
