Lisbon, Jan. 12, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed on Monday with slight losses, with the PSI falling 0.31% to 8,494.08 points, bucking the trend of most other European markets, pressured mainly by Teixeira Duarte and the EDP group.
Of the 16 companies listed on the national benchmark index, the PSI (Portuguese Share Index), nine closed the first session of the week in negative territory, Ibersol ended unchanged at €9.96 and the remaining six in the green.
Leading the declines was civil engineering and construction company Teixeira Duarte, which lost 2.20% to close at €0.62 per share, followed by REN, which fell 1.78% to €3.31.
Also in the energy sector, EDP Renováveis fell 1.42% to €12.46, while its parent company fell 0.76% to €4.06.
On the other hand, preventing more significant falls in the PSI was Semapa, which rose 1.62% to €21.90, followed by Galp Energia, which gained 1.55% to €15.69.
Civil engineering and construction company Mota-Engil also posted gains of over 1%, closing up 1.28% to €5.13 per share.
On the other major European stock markets, the day was generally positive: Germany's DAX rose 0.57%, Britain's FTSE 100 gained 0.16% and Spain's IBEX-35 rose 0.14%.
In contrast, France's CAC-40 fell 0.04%.
