TIRANA, Jan 1 /ATA/ Elisa Spiropali, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, extended her congratulations to her Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos, on Cyprus taking over the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union starting January 1, 2026. 

Spiropali wished the Cypriot Presidency every success during this critical period, in advancing a proactive European agenda, including a comprehensive, credible, and successful enlargement process that strengthens Europe. 

The Foreign Minister highlighted that Albania is prepared to keep contributing and investing in its future as part of our collective European future. 

“Spiropali expressed her best wishes to the Cypriot Presidency during this critical period, emphasizing the advancement of a proactive European agenda, including a comprehensive, credible, and successful enlargement process that solidifies Europe, its values, and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.”
