Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark flat on day but up 29.5% on year

Lisbon, Dec. 31, 2025 - The Lisbon stock market closed the last session of 2025 flat, with the benchmark index unchanged, but up around 29% for the year as a whole.

Over the year as a whole, the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index) rose 29.5%, from 6,377.26 points on the 31 December 2024 to 8,263.65 points on the last day of 2025.

In the session on Wednesday, which closed earlier than usual because it was the eve of a public holiday, the PSI remained at 8,263.65 points, virtually unchanged from Tuesday.

Among the 16 PSI-listed companies, seven fell, eight rose and one, catering and restaurant operator, Ibersol, remained unchanged at €9.90.

Leading the gains was Teixeira Duarte, which rose 1.92% to €0.64, followed by Altri, which advanced 1.01% to €4.50, and Galp Energia, which added 0.76% to €14.63.

Among the losers were Semapa, which fell 2.34% to €20.9, Sonae, which fell 1.35% to €1.61, and Corticeira Amorim, which fell 0.60% to €6.61.

Across Europe, it was a day of declines. Paris fell 0.23%, Madrid 0.27% and London 0.09%. The Milan and Frankfurt stock exchanges were closed.
