Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks trading higher with Ibersol rising 1.42%

Lisbon, Dec. 12, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market maintained its opening trend on Friday and traded higher, with Ibersol shares rising 1.42% to €10 and Mota-Engil shares falling 1.07% to €4.79.

At around 9:35 a.m. in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.25% to 8,013.63 points, against a new high since January 2010 of 8,484.01 points recorded on 5 November, with 12 stocks rising, three falling and one maintaining its price (Jerónimo Martins at €19.76).

Ibersol shares were followed by Teixeira Duarte, Semapa and EDP, which also rose, namely 0.93% to €0.65, 0.81% to €17.34 and 0.76% to €3.73.

Following the same trend, Navigator, Altri and CTT shares rose by 0.73% to €3.04, 0.70% to €4.32 and 0.68% to €7.42, respectively.

Shares in NOS, REN and Corticeira Amorim rose 0.53% to €3.78, 0.47% to €3.23 and 0.15% to €6.48.

The other two shares that rose in price were Sonae (+0.12% to €1.62) and BCP (+0.07% to €0.87).

On the other hand, in addition to Mota-Engil shares, EDP Renováveis and Galp shares fell by 0.17% to €11.44 and 0.07% to €14.40, respectively.

The main European stock markets were up today, boosted by the close of the Dow Jones on the New York Stock Exchange, which reached a new high thanks to the US Federal Reserve's interest rate cut last Wednesday.

Wall Street futures are mixed at the moment, with the Dow Jones up 0.23% and the Nasdaq down 0.18%.

Brent, the benchmark crude oil in Europe, for delivery in February 2026, is advancing to $61.52, compared to $61.28 in the previous session.

The euro fell to $1.1739 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market, compared to $1.1755 on Thursday and the new four-year high of $1.1865 recorded on 16 September.
