“The establishment of the Cyprus Business Council, comprised of Cypriot professionals and business people and operating under Dubai Chambers, is a tangible step forward in strengthening the economic bridge between Cyprus and the UAE,” Cyprus Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, stated.
Addressing the First Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Business Council, held on Wednesday at Dubai Digital Park, Papanastasiou said that the Council provides a structured platform for businesses, investors, and innovators from both countries to connect, exchange knowledge, and create joint ventures that promote sustainable growth, technology transfer, and shared prosperity.
He added that it is now up to the Cyprus Business Council to transform this foundation into a living network – one that drives cooperation in sectors such as energy, innovation, green technologies, tourism, maritime services, infrastructure projects, the food and water nexus, digital assets, and digital transformation.
These are areas, he went on to say, where Cyprus and the UAE share both ambition and expertise, and where our partnership can deliver regional and global impact.
Finally, he reaffirmed the strong commitment of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus to support this initiative and to continue working closely with our Emirati counterparts to ensure its long-term success.
