NNA - The Ministry of Information and the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut), in collaboration with ExiCon International Group, announced the launch of a media and economic development file titled “UN: 80 Years of Partnership with the Lebanese Government and Arab Governments to Advance Sustainable Development – Agenda 2030.”

The initiative, unveiled during a press conference at the Ministry of Information in Beirut, comes in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. It will be produced in collaboration with the talk show “Hiwar Iktissadi” (Economic Dialogue), prepared and presented by economic journalist Ghada Ballout Zeitoun.

The program, dedicated to highlighting economic and development issues and fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors, will feature a series of dialogue sessions organized in partnership with UNIC Beirut. 

Discussions will focus on the efforts of Arab governments in implementing national development and environmental strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030), with the participation of UN experts, the Arab banking sector, regional organizations affiliated with the League of Arab States, international financial institutions, and Arab funds.

Episodes of Hiwar Iktissadi will air between January and March 2026 on Tele Liban and across the digital platforms of UNIC Beirut and the programme itself.

The event underscores the long-standing collaboration between the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut and Lebanon’s Ministry of Information in advancing public awareness on sustainable development and strengthening the role of media in promoting inclusive economic growth.
