Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark off 0.2% against Europe trend

Lisbon, Oct. 27, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, with the PSI index falling 0.21% to 8,352.01 points, bucking the trend in the rest of Europe.

Of the 16 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 10 rose and six fell.

Leading the declines was EDP Renováveis, which fell 3.30% to €12.88.

Among the main declines were Navigator, which fell 2.67% to €2.99, and EDP, which fell 2.32% to €4.30.

Semapa (€17.92), Sonae SGPS (€1.43) and Altri (€5.01) fell by less than 1%.

In the opposite direction, civil constructor Teixeira Duarte led the gains, rising 3.55% to €0.70.

Also noteworthy were Galp, which rose 3.49% to €17.50, Mota-Engil, which rose 2% to €6.13, and BCP, which added 1.50% to €0.77.

Galp announced today before the market opened that it had made a profit of €973 million in the first nine months of the year, 9% more than in the same period in 2024, with a ‘record’ €407 million in the third quarter (+53%).

With gains of less than 1% were Jerónimo Martins (€20.42), CTT (€7.27), Ibersol (€10.15), REN (€3.13), Corticeira Amorim (€7.35) and NOS (€3.74).

NOS’s profit fell 9.2% in the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period in 2024, to €182 million, due to the absence of extraordinary results last year, the company announced today after the market closed.

Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid rose 0.87%, Frankfurt 0.28%, Paris 0.16% and London 0.09%.
